A Saigon Cafe: Wailuku’s Best-Hidden Foodie Gem

Famously hard to find (the exterior has almost no signage) and a perennial Aipono Award winner. Vietnamese in a place you'd never guess held it.

A Saigon Cafe (also written “Jennifer’s Saigon Cafe”) is one of the most deliberately under-marked restaurants on the island — for years the building had no sign at all. The Vietnamese menu is long and consistent: green papaya salad, banh hoi shrimp, pho, summer rolls. It has won the Maui Aipono Restaurant Award repeatedly and earned every one of them.
