Hāli’imaile General Store: Bev Gannon’s Pineapple-Field Classic

A pioneering Hawai‘i Regional Cuisine room in a 1929 plantation store, surrounded by pineapple fields. Reservation recommended.

Hāli’imaile General Store occupies a 1929 plantation building set among pineapple fields above the town. Chef Bev Gannon was one of the original architects of Hawai‘i Regional Cuisine, and the menu — Szechuan barbecue salmon, paniolo ribeye, sashimi napoleon — has the confidence of a kitchen that helped invent its own genre.
